Dr. Thomas Fielding will present a solo organ recital at St. Augustine Cathedral, Kalamazoo, on Sunday, 26 March at 5pm. The one work on the program will be the Byzantine Sketches by Henri Mulet (1878-1967). The series of 10 musical impressions of the architecture of Paris’ Sacré-Coeur Basilica will be accompanied by a slideshow of ecclesiastical architecture from Fielding’s travels. Free and open to the public with a free-will exit offering.

Thomas Fielding, DM, is director of music for Sacred Heart Cathedral, Raleigh, and is a graduate of the Indiana University Jacobs’ School of Music. A performing and composition competitions laureate, he concertizes widely and receives regular commissions for new works by ensembles of all kinds. The program will include Tuba Tune by Norman Cocker; Prelude, Fugue et Variation Op. 18 by Cesar Franck; Dramatic-Lyric by David H. Johnson; and Introduction, Passacaglia, and Fugue by Healey Willan.
