Sunday, October 15, 2006, 3:00 p.m., the Cathedral Arts Concert Series of the Cathedral of the Holy Angels, 7th Avenue at Tyler Street, Gary, Indiana, presents its Fall Recital beginning the 15th season of these concerts. The program will feature a solo organ recital by Thomas Gouwens, Associate Organist of Fourth Presbyterian Church, Chicago, Illinois and Dean of the Chicago Chapter of the American Guild of Organists (AGO). Musical selections will include works by Johann Sebastian Bach, José Lidon, Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck, Jehan Alain, and Maurice Duruflé. The organ, designed by Lawrence Phelps, was built in 1963-1964 by the Casavant company of Canada, opus 2769, two-manuals, thirty-three ranks. A free-will offering will be accepted.
