REGULATION OF CONTEMPORARY ORGAN MUSIC CONTEST
TIMORGELFEST 2010
The Contemporary Organ Music Contest is organized within the Banat Organ Music Days festival, Timorgelfest 2010.
The honorific Presidents of the jury are Prof. dr. Ioan TALPOŞ, Rector of the West University of Timisoara and Mr. Ioan Coriolan GÂRBONI, Director of Banatul Philharmonics from Timisoara. The two Presidents have the right to take final decisions of awarding the prizes, together with the jury.
Enrollment for the contest is done by filling in the annexed application form.
Prizes:
1st Prize: 1500 lei; 2nd Prize: 750 lei; 3rd Prize: 500 lei.
Each participant will be issued a Participation Diploma to Timorgelfest 2009.
The jury is composed by: Prof. dr. Felician ROŞCA, Prof. dr. Laszlo CSANADI (Humgary), Lect. drd. Zoltán Borbély (Serbia). The jury can be modified in major cases.
The decisions of the jury are public and cannot be contested in justice.
The contest is organized by the Banatul Philharmonics from Timisoara and by the West University of Timisoara. Participants are organ players, regardless of nationality, who are 35 years old until September 22nd 2009.
The contest instrument is the Prestige 100 organ from the West University of Timisoara Aula Magna. The first stage will take place on September 20nd 2009, starting from 9am, when the order of participants will be decided by drawing of lots; the second stage will take place on September 21rd 2009.
Each participant has to present two contemporary works, out of which one must belong to the Romanian repertoire, and one major work by Johann Sebastian Bach. The cumulative duration of the two contemporary works cannot exceed 40 minutes. The contest has two stages: stage one – contemporary works; stage two – the work by Johann Sebastian Bach.
The Prizes Awarding Gala will take place on September 22rd 2009 from 8pm.

After his years as apprentice and journeyman, he settled in 1741 in Burgundy (Dole and Dijon) in 1741 and through his wine-dealer business achieved considerable wealth. In Salem he built 1766-1774 the biggest organ installation in the world at the time, with 120 stops distriubuted among 4 organs.
