Enjoy a lunchtime concert at Fourth Presbyterian Church. This building was opened in May 1914, after two years of construction. The location was considered a bit of a gamble, as Chicago’s now-famous “Magnificent Mile” was then just an underdeveloped road called Pine Street. But, the neighborhood grew up around the church, and except for the familiar Water Tower two blocks to the south, Fourth Presbyterian Church is now the oldest surviving structure on Michigan Avenue north of the river.
